ESPN College GameDay sponsored by State Farm is coming to Philadelphia January 18 and Explorer fans are encouraged to come out and show their support for the team!
Below is some information to assist you as you plan on coming over for this historic celebration.
Game Day will take place at the cathedral of college basketball, The Palestra. Doors open at 8AM. The show gets started at 10 AM on ESPNU and continues on ESPN from 11AM to noon.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early and celebrate this exciting opportunity to host ESPN Game Day. Wear your gold and cheer loud.
INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS
Mark your calendar for Saturday, January 18 for ESPN Game Day, when the Men’s Basketball team battles city-rival Temple at 12PM at the Palestra.
Here’s the latest info!
--The Game Day show starts at 10AM and the first 144 students in the door at the Palestra will get prime seating behind the Game Day set. Be in your seats by 9 AM for live SportsCenter updates!
--All additional students will fill in the student section behind the baskets and will still get plenty of face-time on the broadcast.
--Doors open at the Palestra at 8AM, so if you want a good seat, get there early! During the Game Day show, a lucky student will shoot one half-court shot for a chance to win $18,000 courtesy of State Farm!
--Also, the first 1000 students in the door will get a La Salle Basketball shirt, sponsored by Under Armour and Kampus Klothes!
--Student tickets are available starting Monday, January 13 ONLY at the Ticket Office. Also, sign-ups for bus transportation to the Palestra will begin Monday, January 13 at the Ticket Office. Ticket Office hours are 10AM-4:30PM.

From the Philadelphia International Airport and points south of Philadelphia
Follow I-95 North past Philadelphia International Airport towards downtown. Then merge from the left-hand lanes onto Exit #22 I-676 (Vine Street Expressway, Central Philadelphia, Independence Hall) Take I-676 cross-town and then merge from the right-hand lanes onto I-76 East (Int'l Airport, Schuylkill Expressway). Quickly enter the left-hand lane, and then exit on the left-hand side at Exit #346A (South Street). At the top of the ramp make a right onto South Street. Take South Street to the second traffic light (33rd Street) and make a right. After you pass Weightman Hall and Dunning Coaches Center on the right side, you will see The Palestra behind the Shoemaker Green.
From the New Jersey Turnpike and the New York City Area
Take the NJ Turnpike South Exit #4 (NJ 73, Camden, Philadelphia) to NJ 73 North and then onto I-295 South. After passing Exit 28 on I-295 South, stay to your left and then merge onto I-76 Exit #26 (Philadelphia, Camden). After merging, stay to your left and look for I-76 Walt Whitman Bridge (a toll bridge). Cross the bridge into Philadelphia and after passing Exit #346b (University Ave.), stay to your left. The exit is on the left-hand side, Exit #346A (South Street). At the top of the ramp make a left onto South Street. Take South Street to the second traffic light (33rd Street) and make a right. After you pass Weightman Hall and Dunning Coaches Center on the right side, you will see The Palestra behind the Shoemaker Green.
From the Pennsylvania Turnpike and points west of Philadelphia
Exit the Pennsylvania Turnpike at Exit 326 (Valley Forge) then merge onto I-76 East (Philadelphia). After passing Exit #345 (30th Street Station) stay to your left. You will exit from the left-hand lane at Exit #346A (South Street). At the top of the ramp make a right onto South St
reet. Take South Street to the second traffic light (33rd Street) and make a right. After you pass Weightman Hall and Dunning Coaches Center on the right side, you will see The Palestra behind the Shoemaker Green.
From the Ben Franklin Bridge and Camden
Take US-30 (Admiral Wilson Boulevard) to the Ben Franklin Bridge (a toll bridge). Then take I-676 West (Vine Street Expressway) to I-76 East (Int'l Airport, Schuylkill Expressway). Quickly enter the left-hand lane, and then exit on the left-hand side at Exit #346A (South Street). At the top of the ramp make a right onto South Street. Take South Street to the second traffic light (33rd Street) and make a right. After you pass Weightman Hall and Dunning Coaches Center on the right side, you will see The Palestra behind the Shoemaker Green.
From the Walt Whitman Bridge and the Atlantic City Expressway
Take the Atlantic City Expressway to NJ-42 North. NJ-42 will divide into Express and Local lanes. Take the Express lanes to I-76 East Walt Whitman Bridge (a toll bridge). Cross the bridge into Philadelphia and after passing Exit #346b (University Ave.), stay to your left. The exit is on the left-hand side, Exit #346A (South Street). At the top of the ramp make a left onto South Street. Take South Street to the second traffic light (33rd Street) and make a right. After you pass Weightman Hall and Dunning Coaches Center on the right side, you will see The Palestra behind the Shoemaker Green.
From Northeast Philadelphia and Northern Suburbs
Take US-1 South (Roosevelt Blvd) to I-76 East (Central Philadelphia). After passing Exit #345 (30th Street Station) stay to your left. You will exit from the left-hand lane at Exit #346A (South Street). At the top of the ramp make a right onto South Street. Take South Street to the second traffic light (33rd Street) and make a right. After you pass Weightman Hall and Dunning Coaches Center on the right side, you will see The Palestra behind the Shoemaker Green.
