Mike Fegeley To Join La Salle Softball Coaching Staff

PHILADELPHIA - Mike Fegeley, a longtime coach at Cheltenham High School, joins the La Salle softball staff as an assistant coach, announced by Head Coach Brianne Brown on Tuesday.

"I am extremely excited to have Mike Fegeley join our coaching staff at La Salle," Brown said. "He brings many years of experience on the softball field, and will be a great addition to the dynamic of the La Salle softball family."

Fegeley brings considerable experience to 20th and Olney from the high school level and from the travel ball scene. He has been part of the Cheltenham program since 1992, working his way up from junior varsity coach to assistant varsity and ultimately to the head coaching spot which he has held since 2004.

He has also been the head coach of the Blazing Angels 18U Gold travel ball team since 2003 after joining the team as an assistant in 2002. With the Blazing Angels, he assisted players in the college recruitment process, and coached several players who are in the collegiate ranks.

Prior to coaching the Blazing Angels, he served as head coach of the Bristol Force 16/18U team from 1997-2000 after coaching the Philadelphia Spirit 12/14U from 1994-97.

"I'm very excited for this opportunity," Fegeley said. "I've been around girls' softball for the last 20 years. My three daughters have played. It's a very exciting opportunity and it's the next natural step for me. I'm very excited to be at La Salle."
