Kevin Conroy Earns Big 5 Player Of The Week Nod


PHILADELPHIA - Kevin Conroy has been named Big 5 Player of the Week for games played May 6-12, the organization announced today. The sophomore proved to be the main offensive cog for the Blue and Gold over the weekend, racking up a .455 batting average (5-11) in La Salle's Atlantic 10 series win at St. Bonaventure.

Conroy notched a double and a triple while driving in two runs in Friday's 7-3 victory over the Bonnies. Later in the afternoon, the Philadelphia native scored the tying run in the Explorer's come-from-behind 6-4 win in the back end of the doubleheader. The Father Judge product clocked his second round tripper of the campaign and added a single and a double in Saturday's 7-5 setback.

For the week, Conroy notched a a .571 on base percentage and 1.091 slugging percentage (1.662 OPS) to raise his season OPS to .742. The left fielder leads the club with 26 RBI along with seven multiple RBI games.

The Explorers play a non-conference game at Rider at 3:30 p.m. this afternoon and will travel to George Washington for their last A-10 series of the season, set to begin on Thursday at 3 p.m.
