Baseball Draws Rhode Island In First Round Of Atlantic 10 Tournament

A-10 Championship Central | Tournament Bracket

PHILADELPHIA – For the third time in the last four seasons, the La Salle baseball team will play for a conference championship at the Atlantic 10 baseball tournament, hosted by the University of Charlotte. Mike Lake's squad finished the regular season 15-9 in the A-10, snipping the program's previous record of 14, set in 2010.

The Blue and Gold last made the tournament in 2011 and defeated Dayton in an opening-round, 13-inning thriller. Then-sophomore Pat Christensen earned the win for the Explorers.

The sixth-seeded Explorers are slated to draw third-seeded Rhode Island in opening round play on Wednesday at 5 p.m. The Rams finished the regular season 17-7, good for a three-way tie atop the league standings. A-10 tiebreaking procedures were employed to seed the tournament accordingly.
