CENTERVILLE, Mass. – La Salle men's soccer seniors John McCarthy and Jason Plumhoff have been named All-Stars by the Eastern College Athletic Conference. The duo accounted for two-thirds of the Philadelphia Soccer 6's representation on the list.

McCarthy, a first-team All-A10 selection as a goalkeeper, ranked seventh nationally this season in saves/game (6.11) and led the conference in total saves for the fourth consecutive year. The Cinnaminson, N.J. native posted five shutouts on the year as well as three double-digit save outputs. Most memorably, McCarthy made 12 saves in La Salle's penalty kick shootout advance over Dayton in the first round of the A-10 tournament. The senior turned away two Flyer penalty kicks to push the Explorers into the second round.

The Northeast Catholic product was named an NSCAA Scholar All-American for the second consecutive year on December 20. He ended his career as La Salle's all-time leaders among goalkeepers in saves (468), shutouts (28), and games played (75). Top Draw Soccer tabbed McCarthy as its 63rd ranked player in the nation following his standout season. He was the lone goalkeeper to earn the ECAC All-Star nod.

Plumhoff had himself an historic senior campaign, tallying 32 points (11 goals, 10 assists) en route to being named Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year. He finished the year ranked ninth nationally in points/game (1.6), 10th in assists/game (0.5), and 30th in goals/game (0.55). The Ellicott City, Md. native led the A-10 in goals and assists, the only player in the nation to lead his respective conference in both categories. In addition, Plumhoff became just the second Explorer in history to record 10+ goals and assists in the same season. Cesidio Colasante did so in 1994.

The River Hill product ended his career second in program history in assists (26), fourth in points (80), seventh in goals (27), and tied for fifth in games played (75). He was ranked 59th nationally by Top Drawer Soccer in its postseason ranking.
