Services for Former Explorer Rasual Butler Scheduled for Sunday at La Salle University

PHILADELPHIA - A service of love will be held for La Salle basketball great Rasual Butler on Sunday, Feb. 11 at Tom Gola Arena at TruMark Financial Center. Butler, a four-year star for the Explorers from 1998-2002, tragically passed away on Jan. 31.

Visitation is scheduled to take place from 9:00-11:00 a.m., with a mass to follow shortly thereafter. The event is open to the public.

Butler remains one of the top scorers in the history of the storied men's basketball program at La Salle. Over his four years, he scored 2,125 points which stands fourth behind former National Players of the Year Lionel Simmons, Tom Gola and Michael Brooks.

A second round selection of the Miami Heat in the 2002 NBA Draft, Butler spent 13 seasons in the NBA and scored 6,092 points over 809 games.
