Eric Buhain was a three-time MAAC champion in the 200 individual medley, 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, and 200 butterfly. He qualified for the NCAAs in the 100 breaststroke, 200 individual medley, and 200 butterfly in 1990 and 1991 and won the 100 breaststroke at the 1990 Eastern Seaboard Championships. Buhain was named MAAC Outstanding Swimmer for 1989, 1990, and 1991.

He went on to swim for the Philippines in the 1988 and 1992 Olympics.
