Fred Morris was a four-year letterwinner in baseball from 1974-77 and remains the highest professional draft pick in program history (11th Round, Houston Astros). As a senior in 1977, he earned all-ECC honors after going 4-1 with a 1.72 ERA, which still stands as the lowest in school history. He struck out 50 batters in 41 innings and pitched the first no-hitter in program history versus Hofstra. Morris played three seasons of professional baseball, reaching as high as Double-A.
