La Salle's star forward in the early 1970s, James Crawford earned the nickname of "Skyman" for his rebounding skills. As a junior, he captained the team and became the Explorers’ MVP, leading the team in scoring and rebounding. As a senior, he topped the squad in both categories, as well as assists. Crawford was an All-Big 5 selection and was inducted to the Big 5 Hall of Fame.
