Melanie Coots Platchek '02 became the first Atlantic 10 diver to win three consecutive “Diver of the Meet” awards from 2000-02. She was also a four-time qualifier for NCAA Zone 'A'. Coots won six Atlantic 10 Championships, three in the 1-meter and three in the 3-meter and still holds two school records, the 3-meter (293.93, 2001) and 3-meter, 11 dives (470.70, 2001). She also finished second twice at A-10s.
Academically, she was the 2002 La Salle Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and a three-time Academic All-Atlantic 10 selection.
