A right-handed pitcher from La Jolla, Calif., Christensen was a key member of the baseball program from 2010-13 and was later drafted in the 27th round by the Houston Astros (797th overall) in the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft.

Christensen finished his career at La Salle with 44 saves, currently the seventh-most in NCAA Division I history as of 2026. His 2.72 career ERA remains a program best while ranking second in appearances (105), fourth in wins (17), and fourth in strikeouts (206).

Christensen earned several accolades during his career, including CoSIDA/Capital One Second-Team All-America honors as a senior in 2013, an ACBA/Rawlings All-East Region selection in 2011 and 2013, a two-time first-team All-Atlantic 10 selection in 2011 and 2013, a three-time Big 5 Student-Athlete of the Year from 2011-13, the 2013 Big 5 Pitcher of the Year, a four-time All-Big 5 selection, and the 2010 Big 5 Rookie of the Year.
