Philadelphia, PA - Taking on the Drexel Dragons at Saint Joseph's Finessey Field, the La Salle Explorers field hockey team posted their second straight shut out Wednesday afternoon.
After playing more than 58 minutes of scoreless field hockey on both sides of the field, the Drexel Dragans snapped the scorelles streak to claim at 1-0 victory. Drexel's Crystal Barnes knocked in a pass from Heather Bloemker with 11:21 remaining in the second half to notch the shut out.
Drexel out-shot the Explorers 8-5 for the game but La Salle was awarded more penalty corners than Drexel with the Explorers tallying eight to the Dragons' six.
La Salle goalkeeper Colleen Bolger (Berlin, NJ/Eastern Regional) logged 70 minutes in goal and recorded five saves, while allowing the game-winning goal. Drexel's Katie Dougherty matched Bolger's minutes and tallied four saves in the win.
The Explorers continue Atlantic 10 conference play on Saturday when they take a trip down Broad Street to visit the Temple Owls on Geasey Field at 12:00 p.m.
