Philadelphia, PA- La Salle sophomore Dusan Vujovic (Belgrade, Yugoslavia/New Hope-Solebury) shot a rocket pass Xavier goalie Brian Schaeper in the first overtime period to propel the Explorers over the Musketeers 1-0 in Men's Soccer, today, Sunday, October 26, 2003 at McCarthy Stadium.
La Salle had 14 shots in the game as Xavier recorded six. Xavier goalie Brian Schaeper accumulated nine saves in the game, while La Salle junior goalie Stash Graham (Tampa, FL/Jesuit) recorded three. Xavier junior Nick Frasher (Alpharetta, GA/Milton) tallied three shots in the game, including what looked like it could have been the game winner. Graham challenged a Xavier player in the left corner in the second half, he crossed the ball to Frasher who shot the ball to the right side of the goal. Graham made an acrobatic dive and saved what could have been the game winner.
The game went into the first overtime period, the sixth overtime game of the season for the Explorers. Junior Kevin Coleman (Media, PA/Penncrest) was going one on one in the right corner of the field when he crossed the ball to Vujovic. Vujovic drilled a shot into the back left side of the goal pass the out-stretched hands of Schaeper.
This was Vujovic's second goal of the season and sixth of his career. The shut out was the fifth on the season from Graham and the 14th of his career. He is second all-time at La Salle in shut outs just four behind Mike Kogut (1980-83) and tied his own high for season shut outs.
