Philadelphia, PA . - La Salle Men's Soccer Head Coach Pat Farrell named senior Tom Kenney (Philadelphia, PA/Chestnut Hill) team captain today Tuesday, October 7, 2003. Kenney will join fellow senior and captain Matt Hemberger (Toms River, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) as the leaders on the 2003 Explorer squad.
Kenney is currently leading the Explorers in scoring with three goals on the season, including two in La Salle's 2-0 shutout of St. Bonaventure. He now has ten career goals, and his seven points on the season give him a career total of 23.
Kenney was a vital component not only in La Salle's 2-0 victory over the Bonnies, but he also had the assist on freshman Jeff Spiker's (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) game winning goal in the Explorer's 1-0 victory over the Maine Black Bears.
