Kingston, RI - For the second time in as many days, the La Salle Explorer volleyball team came out on the losing end to a team of Rams; this time the Rams of Rhode Island. The Explorers fell 3-1 on Saturday at Keany Gymnasium, dropping La Salle to 8-15 overall and 0-5 in Atlantic 10 Conference play, while the Rams improved to 8-12 and 3-2.

The Explorers struggled on offense, with only three players recording a positive hitting percentage. Junior Lauren Woods (Akron, OH/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) led La Salle with eight kills, while freshman Kristen Kelsey (Buda, TX/Jack C. Hays) tallied five kills. Freshman Caitlin Conner (Willow Springs, IL/Lyons Township) assisted on 20 of La Salle's 20 kills in the match.

On defense, Woods recorded a match-high three solo blocks and assisted on one. Senior Robyn Wright (Salem, OH/Salem) tallied five blocks, including two solo and three assisted.

Rhode Island's Beatriz Arana topped all players with 13 kills. Mary Kate Reardon posted an .833 hitting percentage after downing five kills on six attempts. Reardon also assisted on 19 kills and Marie Rolfe assisted on 13.

The Explorers return home to Tom Gola Arena Friday night when they host the Dukes of Duquesne in an Atlantic 10 Conference match at 7:00 p.m.
