SOUTH ORANGE, NJ (August 29, 2003) - Senior Krista Lee's first goal of the season gave the La Salle University's Women's Soccer team a 1-0 lead with 24 minutes remaining in the contest. However, with less than 10 minutes to go, Seton Hall's Sabrina Fleming knotted the game at 1-1 and the Explorers end their season opener in a 1-1 double overtime tie
Lee, who scored 10 goals last season, put La Salle on the scoreboard after heading a pass from sophomore Lisa Genna in to the goal. The goal came in the 66th minute and with both teams playing strong defense the one goal looked to stand.
At that point, La Salle limited Seton Hall to just five shots on goal, but at the 80:59 mark, the Pirates sixth shot found the back of the net. Fleming scored on a header off a corner kick by Jocelyn Dumaresq. It was her first career goal.
La Salle (0-0-1) will now face another Big East opponent in its next match, Monday, September 1. They will host Syracuse at 1 PM at McCarthy Stadium.
