GREENSBORO, NC (SEPTEMBER 5, 2003) - George Mason's Amy Alecci blasted in the game-winning goal just two minutes into overtime to give the Patriots a 3-2 victory over the La Salle women's soccer team in the first game of the 2003 UNCG/adidas Classic Presented by USA Staffing.

With the game knotted at one goal apiece at the intermission, George Mason's Dianna Russini scored the go ahead goal at the 17:11 mark of the second half when she beat two defenders off the dribble before burying the shot in the right half of the net.

As time was running out in regulation and George Mason clinging to a 2-1 lead, La Salle's Jessica Eisele sent in a blast from five yards out to tie the match. Courtney White and Jackie Timmes were credited with an assist.

La Salle got on the board first with a goal by Krista Lee at the 24:23 mark. With her back to the goal, Lee knocked in the goal from two yards out. Heather Barclay and Lisa Genna assisted on the goal.

George Mason (2-0) responded with a goal of its own at the 37:24 mark when Rachel Wiggins spun past her defender and crossed the ball to a wide open Amy Sorenson who promptly chipped in the goal past a diving Kerry Schamberger.

La Salle (0-2-1) will take on Hofstra Sunday, September 7 at Noon.
