The women of La Salle's crew team competed in their secon regatta of the fall season on Saturday October 30. The race was the Head of the Schuylkill which was a 5,000 meter, or 2.5 mile, long head race. The event changed slightly from last year in that the direction of the race was down river rather than up river and the change was mainly for safety reasons. La Salle was entered in the freshman/novice four and the varsity eight races.
The first race of the day was the freshman/novice four, which consisted of: Michelle DeLong, Patrice Girard, Jessica Lamont, Kellie Nadeau and coxswain Alexa Roop. The girls finished with a time of 19:04.54 which was good enough to put them in 5th place out of 16 competitors. Villanova took 1st place with a time of 17:45.04.
The last event of the day was the varsity eight, which consisted of: Suzanne Patackis, Kelly Zavertnik, Rita Brown, Therese Pomeroy, Sarah Turner, Becky Mahney, Rose Fisher, Aimee Nichols and coxswain Kellie Fagan.
