Field Hockey's Bolger Honored Twice

La Salle senior field hockey goalkeeper Colleen Bolger (Berlin, NJ/Eastern Regional) was named to the City Six All-Philadelphia Team.  Bolger was also honored by the South Jersey Field Hockey Club at the 28th Annual Awards Banguet held in Cherry Hill, NJ this week.

The South Jersey Field Hockey Club is comprised of high school coaches in South Jersey, who honor not only high school players, but select from 2-4 college players who played high school field hockey in South Jersey and are now completing their collegiate careers to be named as the College Player of the Year.  The player earning the most votes receives the honor of speaking at the banquet.  Bolger received the honor of speaking to over 200 high school players, parents and coaches.

Bolger played in goal for Eastern Regional  High School, and controlled the net for the first two years of Eastern's unbeaten streak.  Eastern Regional currently boasts a six-year unbeaten streak, which is a natiional record.

This marks the second time a La Salle field hockey player has been honored by the Club; the first player was Carol McLaughlin, in 1985.  McLaughlin was a a Moorestown High School graduate.
