Philadelphia, PA - La Salle senior Kevin Coleman (Media, PA/Penncrest) and junior Scott Golden (Tampa, FL/Jesuit) were named Philadelphia Soccer Seven All-Stars in a banquet held Thursday, December 2nd, 2004.
This is the third straight year that Coleman has been named to the Soccer Seven All-Star team, while Golden earns the honor for the first time. The two come off a season in which the Explorers saw post-season play for the first time in seven years.
Coleman was also named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference first team after leading in points with 14. He scored four goals on the season and was second in assists with six. Coleman finished his career at La Salle with 11 goals and 11 asissts. He started in every game he played, inlcuding all 19 games this season.
Throughout his four seasons as an Explorer, Coleman earned several post season honors. As a freshman he was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team, and his sophomore season was his first time as a Philadelphia Soccer Seven All-Star.
After his junior season, Coleman, was again named to the Philadelphia Soccer Seven All-Star team. He also earned all-conference honors for the first time in his career. Coleman gained regional recognition as well, being named to the Mid-Atlantic Regional All-American Second Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Golden led the 2004 squad in assists with seven. He finished the season tied for second in points with 13 points, as he added three goals to his seven assists. Golden finished his junior season tied for ninth in career assists with 13.
This is the second post-season honor for Golden, as he was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team following a freshman campaign in which he scored two goals and assisted on six.
Also being honored at the banquet were senior Stash Graham (Tampa, FL/Jesuit), junior Ryan Moseley (Nassau Bahamas/Queens College), and freshman Ryan Dougherty (Wilmington, DE/Salesianum) who all earned player of the week honors at one point throughout the season.
