Philadelphia, PA - La Salle University freshman pitcher Gerard Breslin (Havertown, PA/Haverford) was named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 15, 2004.

Breslin was awarded this honor after extending his scoreless innings streak to 17 2/3 while earning a win and three saves as the Explorers improved their record to 10-2-1 for the 2004 season.

In his first collegiate start on March 2nd against Boston College, Breslin tossed 7 2/3 scoreless innings. He allowed just four hits in La Salle's 10-1 win.

Breslin also posted saves in a pair of one-run wins over Cornell (8-7) and Army (3-2) and notched his team-leading third saves in the second game of a doubleheader against Army on March 6th. He has yielded ust six hits on the year while fanning 13.
