Philadelphia, PA - Seven different Explorers score as the La Salle University lacrosse team defeated the Lafayette Leopards 15-12 today, Wednesday, March 31st.

The Explorers were led by seniore Tracy Guenther (Willow Grove, PA/Upper Moreland) and sophomore Kristen Davis (Folsom, PA/Ridley) who both tallied four goals a piece. The duo combined for the four of the Explorers five first half goals. The fifth first half goal was from sophomore Katharine Prokop (Towaco, NJ/Montville Township).

The Explorers trailed just two times in the game, in the first half when the Leopards went up 2-1 at the 20:39 mark and then in the second half after Lafayette scored the first goal of the period to go up 6-5. La Salle then scored seven straight goals and took the lead 12-6 with just over 17 minutes to go in the game.

Two of the seven straight goals came off the bench from La Salle freshman Catie Borneman (Lansdale, PA/North Penn). Also getting in on the scoring action were juniors Rebecca Boudwin (Springfield, PA/Cardinal O'Hara), and Kate Henwood (Glen Mills, PA/Garnet Valley). Both juniors scored one goal in the Explorers seven goal run, Henwood finished the game with two.

Lafayette was not done, they scored six more goals in the final 16 minutes of play. But the Explorers added three more goals of their own to hold out for the victory.

The Explorers improve to 3-5 on the season and will host Bucknell on Tuesday, April 6th at 3:00 p.m.
