PHILADELPHIA, PA (February 20, 2004) - Senior Eric Limbach won the 200 Free, the third individual title won by the La Salle Men's Swimming and Diving team, at this year's Atlantic 10 Conference's Swimming and Diving Championships in Buffalo, NY.

Limbach bested the field in a time of 1:41.36, his fastest time of his career in the event. Freshman Connors-McBride, who won an A-10 title last night in the 500 Free, finished third in the event (1:42.76) and sophomore Emir Hubijar was ninth (1:43.49).

Connors-McBride also swam in the 100 Fly, but finished seventh in a time of 51.20.

Junior Rob Queroli, who was the only other Explorer to qualified to swim in two events Friday night, was fifth in the the 100 Back (52.40) and finished 12th in the 100 Fly (51:82).

On the women's side, junior Kitt Watkins followed up her second-place finish in the 3-meter diving event with a third-place in the 1-meter. She amassed 216.65 points, just 16 points out of the top spot.

Other men's finishers Friday night, included: the 200 Medley Relay team (5th, 1:35.64); sophomore Jack McCaffery (10th, 4:12.04) in the 400 IM; junior Jeff Anderson (16th, 54.01) in the 100 Fly; sophomore Tom Smyth (6th, 58.72) and freshman Kevin Whelan (7th, 59.55) in the 100 Breast; junior Frank Eaton (8th, 53.43) and freshman Mike Ellerson (11th, 53.64) in the 100 Back; and the 800 Free Relay team (3rd, 6:53.73).

Other women's finishers Friday night, included: the 200 Medley Relay team finished eighth (1:51.55); freshman Jamie Polek (14th 1:55.81) in the 200 Free; senior Colleen Slowey (10th, 59.72) in the 100 Fly; junior Jessica Philips (16th, 1:10.91) in the 100 Breast; senior Cecile Van Oppen (15th, 1:01.36) in the 100 Back; and the 800 Free Relay team (4th, 7:46.31).
