Among the Explorer pitchers that saw action, where junior Anthony Boscaglia and freshman Gerard Breslin. Boscaglia pitched 4.1 innings, allowing just two hits and striking out three batters. Breslin made the most of his first appearance, pitching the last 4.2 innings allowing no hits and struck out one.
The only West Chester (0-0-1) threat to score was in the top of the ninth inning when an error and two walks loaded the bases. However, Bresling forced the Rams' Taylor to ground out to first.
La Salle (1-0-1) had a runner on second base with just one out in each of the eighth and ninth innings, but could not score the winning run. They managed just two hits off of Ram starter Brennan, while Bergstrom and Freeze allowed just one hit. The trio struck out 14 Explorers in the contest.
La Salle will now travel to Florida for its annual trip over Spring Break, which will feature games with the University of Miami, Maine, and St. Francis to start the trip.
