Explorers Fall To Wildcats In Liberty Bell Classic

Philadelphia, PA - Head Coach Lee Saverio's La Salle University baseball team dropped a 7-0 decision to the Villanova Wildcats in the Liberty Bell Classic. The Explorers recorded just three hits in the loss, falling to 15-17-2 on the season.

Senior hurler Chris Hughes started on the mound for La Salle. He pitched in four innings before relief pitcher and fellow senior Bryan Harvey came in to pitch in the fifth and sixth innings. Harvey struck out two batters in the two innings he pitched. Sophomore Harold Grant, junior Matt Kirsch, and freshman Sean McGovern all pitched in the two innings.

Senior John Snyder, sophomore Kevin McCarthy, and freshman John Vincent tallied the three hits for the Explorers.

The Explorers will travel to Rider this Thursday, April 22nd for a 3:30 p.m. contest before continuing Atlantic 10 action this weekend as they host Xavier. La Salle will play a double header with the Musketeers this Saturday, April 24th and then a single game on Sunday, April 25th, both starting at noon.
