Posted by: Meaghann Schulte (215-951-1633)Richmond, VA - The La Salle University baseball team traveled to the University of Richmond today, Saturday, May 15th and dropped two games to the Spiders. La Salle fell 4-3 in game two and were shut-out 10-0 in game two.
La Salle freshman John Vincent (Glen Burnie, MD/Cardinal Gibbons) was a perfect 2-2 and drove in all three of the Explorers runs in game one. Junior Anthony Boscaglia (Vineland, NJ/Sacred Heart) started on the mound for the Explorers/ He pitched in five innings before senior Bryan Harvey (Doylestown, PA/La Salle) came in to pitch in the final inning.
The Spiders out hit the Explorers 14-3 in game two and tallied four errors in the 10-0 shut-out. Freshman Gerard Breslin (Havertown, PA/Haverford) was the starting hurler for La Salle. He pitched in three innings and was relieved by four different Explorer pitchers.
La Salle (20-27-2/5-18) will face the Spiders tomorrow, Sunday, May 16th for a single nine-inning game set to start at noon.
