Lewisburg, PA - The La Salle Explorer field hockey team got back on the winning side of the scoreboard on Tuesday, by claiming a 1-0 defeat over host Bucknell at Graham Field. The win brings the Explorers to 4-6 on the season, with Bucknell mirroring La Salle's record of 4-6.
La Salle scored the only goal of the contest five minutes into the second half, when Emily Simone (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon) found found the cage in a crowd in front of the goal.
The Explorers earned the win despite being out shot 13-10 and earning just six penalty corners to Bucknell's 11. La Salle goalkeeper Colleen Bolger (Berlin, NJ/Eastern Regional) added eight saves to her season total, while Bucknell's Liz Jordan stopped five Explorer shots.
Continuing on the road, the Explorers will visit the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Sunday with a 12:00 p.m. start.
