Longo, Petitte to be Featured Speakers at Clinics

Head Football Coach, Phil Longo and Associate Head Football Coach, Phil Petitte are slated to speak in 2005 at two football Glazier/Mega-Clinics.  

 

Longo, who also serves as La Salle's Offensive Coordinator will speak on a number of offensive topics including practice organization/protocol for the no-huddle offense, synchronization of the passing game, and implementing the bubble screen into any offense. La Salle's offense completed the 2004 season as the 2nd rated offense in the nation among Division 1AA Mid-Major schools.  Offensively, La Salle finished the season as the #1 offense in the MAAC Conference averaging  33.8 points per game.  Both coaches will attend the Atlantic City clinic scheduled for March 3-5, 2005.  Coach Longo is scheduled to speak on March 3rd from 7:00 pm - 10:25 pm.  The clinic will run from March 3rd through March 5th.  Coach Petitte will also attend.

 

Associate Head Coach, Phil Petitte, who has also just been promoted to Defensive Coordinator, is slated to speak on a number of defensive and special teams topics.  Specific topics include defensive line vs. the run game, defensive line pass rush technique & drills, kick-off coverage, and punt return scheme.  Coach Petitte transformed the La Salle defensive line this past season and will be the architect of the 2005 La Salle defense.  He has been a regular on the Mega-Clinic circuit in recent years.  Coach Petitte spent the previous nine years at Rowan University where he coached in four National Championship games.  Coach Petitte is scheduled to speak on February 11th from 6:30 pm - 9:20 pm and then again on Saturday February 12th from 8:30 am - 11:50 am.  The clinic will run from February 10th through February 12th.  Coach Longo will also attend.
