Marshall Taylor to Transfer to La Salle

Posted by: Kale Beers

PHILADELPHIA, PA - La Salle University men's basketball head coach Dr. John Giannini has announced that Marshall Taylor has enrolled in classes for the Spring 2005 semester and will join the team as a transfer.

"Marshall is a bigger, stronger guard who is also a good shooter and ball handler" said Coach Giannini.  "He can also play up to three positions.  I am pleased he will be on the court with us for the next four seasons while also having a full year to develop before becoming eligible" added Giannini.

Taylor, who transferred from Siena College, will be able to practice with the team immediately.

The 6'4, 206-pound Taylor left Siena after just one semester in Loudonville, NY.  Upon sitting out the NCAA-mandated one year for transfers, Taylor will become eligible in December of this year and have four seasons of eligibility.

"Marshall is only 17-years old.  If he were at a prep school right now - he would be highly recruited.  We feel he will contribute to our future success," stated Giannini.

The former West Catholic star earned Second-Team all-City and First-Team all-Catholic League status after averaging just over 20 points per game during his senior year with the Burrs.
