BRONX, NY - After being postponed for two days, the wait seemed to be worth it, as the La Salle Explorers men's swimming team defeated host Fordham on Monday evening.

Sophomore Sean Connors-McBride (Stroudsburg, PA/Germantown Academy) led the way for the Explorers with three first place finishes.  Connors-McBride claimed victory in the 1000 free, as the only swimmer to cross the finish line in under 10 minutes at 9:58.84.  He also finished first inthe 200 fly (1:56.77) and the 500 free (4:45.49).

Fellow sophomore Aaron Amundsen (Alexandria, VA/West Potomac) also earned multiple first place finishes, out pacing the field in the 50 free (21.90) and the 100 free (48.30).

Freshman Grant Chin (La Canada, CA/La Canada) added to La Salle's success taking first place in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:57.04.

The Explorers dominated the 200 back stroke as Mike Ellerson (Philadelphia, PA/Bodine) finished first, followed by Matt Ainsworth (Frederick, MD/Frederick) in second and Frank Eaton (Rahway, NJ/Roselle Catholic) placing third.

The team will close out the regular season this Saturday, January 29th, when they host Lehigh and St. Francis at Kirk Pool.  The meet kicks off at 12:00 p.m., with the seniors being honored prior to the first event.
