PHILADELPHIA, PA - Seniors Amy Dalrymple, Jen Rauscher, Emily Simone
and Emilie Stewart were on the sidelines for the last time as a player on Sunday
morning when the Explorers hosted the Saint Louis Billikens in the final home game
of the 2005 season. The Explorers now stand at 3-15 overall and 1-5 in the Atlantic 10,
while the Billikens improve to 8-9 and 3-3.
It looked as though the Explorers were headed for their sixth overtime victory of the season
after playing move than 58 minutes of a scoreless game, but with 11:13 left in regulation,
the Billikens got a goal from Catherine Donovan who chipped in a pass from the sideline by
Mary Henry. Donovan's goal proved to be the game winner for Saint Louis.
Both teams struggled to got off shots, with La Salle's Emilie Stewart attempting one shot on
on goal in the second half to got with two wide shots, also in the second half. Jillian Moser
launched La Salle's only other shot on goal in the game. Moser also tried a shot that
went wide.
Goalkeeper Ellen Axelsen tallied one save in the contest, while Saint Louis' Amy
Wasserman recorded one save in each half.
The Explorers held the advantage in penalty corners at 9-5. Saint Louis picked up all
five corners in the second half.
La Salle will play their final Atlantic 10 game of the season on Saturday, October 29th,
at West Chester at 12:00 p.m.
