My sister Kathy Renz is an alumna of LaSalle and we try to go to one game in the
season. Scheduling conflicts in the family prevented us from going this year,
however.

I am the public address announcer for sports events at Jackson Memorial High School. I did see Preston play for Marlboro High School in their games against Jackson.
My prayers and thoughts are with Preston and his family. I hope the young man
recovers from his injury.

Respectfully yours,

Jim Colbert

Preston, family, friends, and team, I will be keeping all of you in my heart and prayers.  Everyone needs to be strong, because this is just a mountain that God puts in front of us to get over.  I know how strongly my father Coach Petitte wants to see Preston recover.  And it is very true what my sister said about him treating his players like his sons!   He cares sooo much about all of you.  And wants nothing more than for you, Preston, to fight and show how strongwilled you are.  So stay strong and keep progressing the way you have!

Preston,

When I heard of your injury, I couldn't believe it. I know how much football means to you and how
hard you worked at it. I had the pleasure of working with you on both the Pop Warner and high
school levels as a coach. I used to tell your dad how impressed I was with your running ability.
You had the characteristics of a hard runner, a good forward lean and a good football butt. In
all the years I watched you run you never, EVER, lost a yard when you ran. You gained
positive yards every play. You were also tough as nails, playing for many years against kids
older than you.

It is fitting that these same two characteristics that made you a good player will get you through
this road to recovery. Every day gain that one "extra yard" in your rehabilitation process. Don't ever
lose faith or lose hope and keep moving forward. Your toughness will give you the fortitude you need
to constantly urge yourself back in to focus. Realize it's going to take time,
but with the love, support, and prayers of family and friends you will get through this.

Tammy, Ted, and Perry, keep the faith. Our prayers are with your family
and for
Preston's speedy recovery.

Coach Phil Masiello and the entire Masiello Family

An Anonymous writer once wrote:

"Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to
what happens, not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring
to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts,
events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary
results."

To Preston and his family,

We offer our pool of strength for you to drink from. This pool represents
not only the strength and faith of our family, but also the best wishes and
positive thoughts from everyone who has posted here. Drink heartily from
this pool, and may the blessings of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit help
see you though this difficult time.

Preston,

You better get better so I can run after you like I did when you were in

You are in my thoughts and prayers daily. As a former SJU Hawk (don't hold that against me),
I know how tough and strong athletes can be from the Philly area and its that strength and
prayers that will get you and your family through this.  If there is anything we at Duquesne can
do, especially while you and your family are still in Pittsburgh, let us know.
