Chin and Isajan Lead Explorers in Loss at Penn

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The La Salle University men's swimming and diving team fell to the Penn Quakers on Tuesday night by a score of 140-98.  With the loss the Explorers now stand at 4-4 for the season.

In the 400 individual medley, Grant Chin crossed the finish line in a time of 4:13.46 which earned him nine points and a first place finish.  In the 100 breaststroke, Chin scored another nine points with his second first place finish in a time of 1:02.39.  Teammates Mike Ellerson (1:02.96) and Tom Smyth (1:04.15) finished second and third respectively.

Junior Sean Connors-McBride tallied 12 points in the meet, with three second place finishes.  In the 200 free, Connors-McBride crossed the finish line in a time of 1:48.16 and in the 100 butterfly turned in a 53.27 performance.  Rounding out his second place finishes, Connors-McBride crossed the finish line in the 500 free in a time of 3:56.84.  Emir Hubijar placed third with a time of 4:02.39.

In the diving events, Karo Isajan swept the diving competition yet again, this time outscoring the second place finisher inthe 1-meter 367.50 - 261.15.  It was a closer finish in the 3-meter, with Isajan tallying 318.53 points to get the win.

The Explorers will be back in action on December 2nd when they travel to Rutgers to participate in the Rutgers Invitational starting at 10:00 a.m.
