PHILADELPHIA, PA - For the second time this season, La Salle forward Steven Smith (Philadelphia, PA/Northeast) was selected as the Big 5 Player of the Week. The All-America candidate scored a career-high 41 points in the Explorers' 107-106 quadruple-overtime win at Central Connecticut State on Dec. 18.

Smith grabbed 10 rebounds to notch his third double-double of the season. The senior also had six assists, three steals and a block. He shot 17-for-27 from the floor and 3-5 from three-point land, which included a pair of clutch treys late in the overtimes.

La Salle returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 20, when the Explorers host Florida International at 7:00 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with the La Salle women's basketball team. The women host Villanova at 5:00 p.m.
