BUFFALO, NY - The men's swimming team closed out the third day of preliminary competition.

The men fared great in the 200 freestyle event, with John Welsh placing third (1:42.35), followed by Sean Connors-McBride in 4th (1:42.41) and Emir Hubijar finishing in sixth place (1:42.82).

In the 400 individual medley, Grant Chin earned a sixth place finish in a time of 4:06.67.  Tom Smyth placed 12th in the 100 breast stroke (1:00.06) followed by Kevin Whelan in 12th place (1:00.13).

The men also competed in the 100 fly and 100 back stroke.

Finals for these events will take place Friday night.
