The Explorers were led by Atlantic 10 two-time Rookie of the Week Emily Bonczek (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) with six goals. Senior Kate Henwood (Glen Mills, PA/Garnett Valley) contributed one goal and two assists to the Explorers success.

After starting the game early due to weather conditions, the Explorers jumped right into things, as it took Davis just nine seconds to score her first goal. Bonczek waited a little over a minute more (1:14) to sink her first shot, and Prokop chipped in her first goal at the 2:37 mark to give the Explorers an early 3-0 lead.

Oregon's Jen May (Davidsonville, MD/South River) snapped the shutout at the 4:10 mark on an unassisted goal. La Salle answered the Ducks goal, with not one goal, but the Explorers posted another three-goal run between the 5:59 and 11:31 mark.

Davis and Bonczek each scored their second, while Catie Borneman (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) got in on the scoring action and earned her lone goal of the game. May started a run of her own for the Ducks, scoring at 15:38, followed by Carrie Bateman's (Sparks, MD/Hereford) goal at the 19:23 mark. Oregon scored its third straight goal with less than five minutes to play in the half, when Cara Mead (Baltimore,MD/Towson) sank a shot to get the Ducks to within two goals at 6-4.

Davis stopped the scoring run with 3:27 to play in the half, but this time the Ducks answered back with an unassisted goal from Lindsay Killian (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) at 27:04. Bonczek completed her first half hat trick with 2:17 to play to give the Explorers an 8-5 advantage going into the break.

After the abbreviated intermission, the Explorers got back into action quickly, when Bonczek dropped her fourth goal on the Ducks with the help of Henwood at the 31:49 mark. Oregon answered the scoring call almost a minute later with a goal from Kristen Brown (Fort Lewis, WA/Lakes).

Prokop responded for the Explorers 13 seconds later at 32:56. Oregon got back-to-back goals next from May at 35:57 and 39:52 to bring the Ducks to within two again at 10-8. La Salle posted its second hat trick of the game when Davis scored with 16:48 remaining.

Oregon's Kate Fleming (Cardiff, CA/La Costa Canyon) converted a free position shot at the 54:36 mark. The Explorers looked to put the Ducks away at this point, as La Salle went on a 4-0 run between the 38:37 and 59:25 mark. Bonczek closed out her six-goal performance with two more goals, along with Prokop completing a hat trick and Henwood scoring her second.
