Philadelphia, PA - The Explorers got back on the winning track with a 7-2 victory over Lehigh today, Tuesday, April 19th. Freshmen Grant Harm (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and John Rickards (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) both hit two run homers in the victory which improved La Salle to 14-20 overall.
La Salle freshman Dennis Burge recorded the victory as he pitched the first seven innings of the game. Senior Matt Kirsch (West Chester, PA/Archbishop Carroll) got the first out of the eighth inning and freshman Craig Mushko (Northampton, PA/Northampton) got the second and third outs. Sophomore Gerard Breslin (Havertown, PA/Havertown) came into close and pitched the final inning.
Junior Mike Essery (Havertown, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) was 2-4 with two runs scored and one run batted in. Freshman Matt Dunaway (Little Rock, AR/Central Arkansas Christian) also tallied two hits in the victory.
The Explorers will travel to the Main Line tomorrow, Wednesday, April 20th to face Villanova in a 3:00 PM nine inning game.
