Cincinatti, OH - La Salle sophomore Rich Prall (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) went 4-5 with a two run homer to help the Explorers defeat the Xavier Musketeers 5-4 in the rubber match of the series.

La Salle sophomore Gerard Breslin (Havertown, PA/Haverford) pitched his ninth save of the season. He now stands alone at the top of the La Salle record books in single season saves (9) and career saves (15). Breslin pitched in the final three innings of the game. He struck out five batters, walked none and gave up just one hit.

Breslin came in at relief after fellow sophomore Dan Waters (Wyndmoor, PA/La Salle) started on the mound and earned his third win of the 2005 season. Waters pitched in five innings before freshman Dennis Burge (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) came in to pitch one in between the two sophomores.

Prall had a day at the plate as he went 4-5 including a two run homer. Prall also scored one run and batted three in. Senior Ryan Parfit (Flourtown, PA/La Salle) and Burge were both 2-4. Parfit scored two runs while Burge drove one in and scored one on his own.

The Explorers improve to 16-22 on the season and 8-7 in the Atlantic 10 conference. La Salle has added a few games including one Wednesday, April 27th at 3:30 p.m. vs. West Chester University at McCarthy Stadium.
