Washington, D.C. - The Explorers jumped back into Atlantic 10 conference action this weekend as they took on the George Washington University and fell 1-0 in the first of the three game series with the Colonials.
La Salle sophomore Dan Waters (Wyndmoor, PA/La Salle) started on the mound for La Salle and pitched into the seventh inning as the Colonials hurler picthed a complete game and gave up just two hits and no runs. Waters was relieved by freshman Jamie Cowan (Annandale, VA/Bishop Ireton) who struck out two batters.
The Colonials only run came off a solo homerun while the Explorers had just two hits, one out of freshman Matt Dunaway (Little Rock, AR/Central Arkansas Christian) and one out of Rich Prall (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West).
La Salle and George Washington will finish up the series tomorrow, Saturday, May 14th with a double header starting at 12:00 p.m.
