Dominick and McKeon Sign to Play for 2005 Season

PHILADELPHIA, PA - La Salle head volleyball coach Dave Stever announced the signing of two freshmen for the upcoming 2005 season.  Christa Dominick, a product of Lakeland High School hales from White Lake, Michigan, while Amy McKeon, a local player comes to La Salle by way of Villa Maria Academy from Phoenixville, PA.

Dominick brings an impressive resume to La Salle, both as a student and an athlete.   On the volleyball court, Dominick, a middle hitter, finished her senior season leading the team in kills (333) and blocks (211).  She was also the recipient of the "Take Your Breath Away Offensive Player" award along with the Spirit Award.  Dominick was a First Team All-District and All-Region selection as a senior. 

During her junior season, Dominick was named as the Most Valuable Player of the Michigan State All Skills Camp.  She added Second Team All-District and All-Region honors to her list of accomplishments.  As a sophomore, Dominick was awarded the J.V. Coach's Choice Award.

Academically, she boasts a 3.985 GPA and will graduate in the top 10 in her class.  Her academic achievements in high school have earned her a Christian Brothers Scholarship for the fall.  She is a three year member of the Honor Roll and was a two-time Board of Education Award Finalist.

McKeon, a middle hitter, served as co-captain of the District One championship team this past season.  She has garnered honors as a member of the Philadelphia Inquirer's District One First Team.  During her junior campaign, McKeon was a District One runner up, and was named as a Southern Chester County League Honorable Mention.

On the club scene, McKeon has competed for the Valley Forge Volleyball Club for the past five years. 

McKeon will carry on a family tradition at La Salle, as her father Tom McKeon is a 1978 graduate.  The elder McKeon was a member of the swim team, and was inducted into the La Salle Hall of Athletes in 2001.
