Posted by: Shawn SweeneyLEWISBURG, PA - Freshman goalkeeper Danny Pfieffer started his collegiate soccer career on the good foot, notching a shutout in his first appearance between the pipes. Unfortunately for the Explorers, his counterpart, Bucknell's Adam Edwards, matched his feat as the two teams fought to a 0-0 tie.
The Bison (3-1-1) fired 18 shots, including 10 in the second half, compared to La Salle's (1-3-1) eight. Pfieffer stopped seven shots on the night, as 11 different Bucknell players peppered the net. Edwards made one save.
Neither team had a great scoring chance in overtime, but the Explorers' Ryan Moseley did force Edwards to make his only save of the night when he kicked a line drive from the edge of the box that landed in Edwards' hands. It was the only save for either goalie during overtime.
The Explorers will make their home debut at McCarthy Stadium on Friday, Sept. 16, when they host crosstown rival Drexel.
