PHILADELPHIA, PA - Brand new Atlantic 10 members Saint Louis and Charlotte will be among the visitors to Tom Gola Arena for the 2005-06 Explorers men's basketball season which opens with a 6:00 PM tip-off at Maryland-Baltimore County on Sunday, November 20^th.

 

The Explorers' first home game will take place on Saturday, November 26 when they host American University for a 2:05 tip at Gola Arena.

 

In addition to their December 3^rd match-up with Drexel in the Big 5 Classic the Explorers will play three games at the historic Palestra including "road match-ups with Penn (Wednesday, Jan. 25) and Saint Joseph's (Saturday, Jan. 21).

 

Under the new scheduling format with the expanded Atlantic 10, La Salle will play Massachusetts, Duquesne and local rival Temple twice this season and the remaining 10 conference foes once.

 

Fans will have 13 opportunities to catch the Explorers at Tom Gola Arena and a total of 18 games will be played within the city limits.

 

The Explorer men and women will team up for a double-header of action on December 20 when the women host Villanova at Gola Arena, while the men tip-off with Florida International. Times for the twin-bill will be announced at a later date.

 

All games will be broadcast on the La Salle Basketball Radio Network with ESPN 920 returning for its third season as the flagship.  All games are also netcast worldwide on GoExplorers.com through new partner Red Zone Media.  Broadcasts begin 15 minutes prior to scheduled tip-off.
