PHILADELPHIA, PA - To find out the winner of the La Salle-Lafayette volleyball game on Saturday at Tom Gola Arena, one would just need to look in the stands to see the La Salle fans holding up brooms to indicated a 3-0 clean sweep of the Leopards on the opening day of the La Salle Invitational. The Explorers improve to 2-0 on the season after claiming three straight by scores of 30-23, 30-14, 30-21.
The Explorers were lead in the match by Stephanie Owen who landed 15 kills on 26 attempts, while committing just four errors to finish the mathc with a .423 hitting percentage. Owen was the only player in the match to tallie more than eight kills.
On defense, libero Carolyn Judge earned 16 digs, while Owen completed a double-double with 10 digs.
Lafayette was led by Audrey O'Donnell, managing just five kills.
The Explorers will be back in action at 7:00 p.m. to take on the Providence Friars in the night cap of the La Salle Invitational.
