Softball Signs Conville to Letter-of-Intent

Posted by: Shawn Sweeney

PHILADELPHIA, PA - La Salle Softball Head Coach Joe DiPietro announced that Mary Pat Conville (Warminster, PA/Archbishop Wood) has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play for the Explorers. Conville, an infielder and catcher, is a four-year starter on Archbishop Wood's softball team and served as the team's captain for her junior and senior years.

Conville has also played for the Jersey Inferno Gold 18-and-under Amateur Softball Association travel team. The team is coached by Don Meister and travels throughout the country in both the summer and fall seasons playing against the top players in the United States and Canada.

"I am extremely thrilled that Mary Pat decided to make La Salle home for the next four years." DiPietro said. "She is an incredible talent that will help us continue to move in the direction this program needs to go."

Conville, whose father Joe is a 1977 graduate of La Salle, also spent four years between the pipes for Archbishop Wood's soccer team. She is also a member of the World Language National Honor Society.

The La Salle softball team kicks off its 2006 season on March 2, at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.
