With just three games left this year, the Explorers (5-8-2, 1-4-1) are looking to get back on a winning streak to finish out their 2006 season. La Salle will play the last three games on the schedule at home, hosting Xavier (6-7-1, 3-1-1) this Friday and Dayton (4-9, 0-5) on Sunday. They will hold Senior Day on Sunday, October 29 when they play their final game of the season against George Washington (4-7-2, 1-3-1).
Despite three losses over the last two weeks, the Explorers still hope to finish with three consecutive wins over the next two weeks to finish at 8-8-2 for the season.
Standing out over the past weeks has been sophomore Kevin Lydic (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) and freshman Joey Foster (Tampa, FL/Sickles), who had the second goal of his collegiate career against St. Bonaventure last Friday. Also having impressive games recently were Jim Davis (Pittsgrove, NJ/A.P. Schalick) and Brian Barry (Arnold, MD/Archbishop Spalding), who were quoted by Coach Farrell as having integral roles on the field. "They've helped elevate our gameplay and are executing the style of play we're trying to develop on this team. This is a tough conference on the road, and I think we've shown a lot of improvement."
The Explorer's game against Xavier is this Friday, October 20 at McCarthy Stadium at 7:00 pm.
