PHILADELPHIA, PA - Grad student and former Explorer soccer player Ryan Moseley (Nassau, Bahamas/Queens College High School) has been taking time out of his school schedule this year to compete on a national level and represent his home of the Bahamas in the Digicel Caribbean Football Cup.
The Bahamian national team took on Cayman Islands, Cuba, Turks & Caicos Islands, Bermuda, and Barbados before finally being knocked out of the finals run by St. Vincent and the Grenadines 3-2 on November 23.
Competition like this is nothing new to Moseley, who contributed two goals in the contests. "I've been involved with the Bahamas team in one way or another since I was about 13 years old; they put you in age groups for different levels of the national team. If you're good enough they keep inviting you back until you're old enough to play for the national team."
Moseley is currently working towards his graduate degree in computer information science at La Salle. Although he has used up his eligibility for soccer in college, he competes for the school's track & field team as a graduate student, where he participates in the 55m dash, 4x1, 100m, and the 200m events.
Last year Moseley earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team and Soccer Seven All-Star awards, and was named the male Scholar-Athlete of the Year by La Salle University.
