VILLANOVA, PA - The La Salle University lacrosse team notched its first win of the season on Wednesday evening at Villanova Stadium, handing the Wildcats a 15-7 loss.  Both teams now stand at 1-2 for the year.

Tiffany Grossi led the Explorers with four goals and Emily Bonczek tallied a hat trick in La Salle's first win of  the season over the Wildcats.  Grossi netted three first half goals, while Bonczek dropped in two in the first half and two in the second half.

The Explorers controlled the game, allowing Villanova to get within one goal at 7-6 after 36:42 of play.  La Salle then opened up the game, going on a 6-0 run to take a commanding lead at 13-6.  Villanova scored its final goal of the contest to halt the Explorers ' run.  La Salle capped off the game with two additional; goals, including its final goal with 15 seconds remaining.

The Explorers will return to action next Tuesday, March 7th when they open the 2006 home season at McCarthy Stadium against the American Eagles at 3:00 p.m.
