Posted by: Shawn Sweeney

KISSIMMEE, FL - The La Salle softball team (4-4) wrapped up play at the Rebel Spring Games with a pair of dramatic wins. The Explorers took an 8-7 decision from Fairleigh Dickinson in eight innings and defeated Saint Peter's 5-3.

Sophomore Michelle Sullivan (Gibbstown, NJ/Paulsboro) drove in the winning run with a single in the eighth inning to give La Salle the win over Fairleigh Dickinson. Sophomore Carissa Segura (Santa Maria, CA/Ernest Righetti) earned the win in relief.

In the nightcap, junior Laura DeZolt (Morrisville, PA/Conwell-Egan Catholic) hit a two-run walk-off homerun in the seventh inning to propel the Explorers to victory. DeZolt also picked up the win from the pitcher's circle.

La Salle will host Marist on Sunday, March 12 at noon at Rutgers-Camden Community Park.
