DALLAS, TX - The La Salle University Baseball team lost a pair of games to Dallas Baptist on Friday afternoon, 12-2 and 13-0, at Patriot Field.

 

La Salle (3-13) actually led in the first game 2-1 after four innings. John Vincent hit an RBI triple to center field plating Mike Dertouzos, and then scored the go-ahead run on a Ken Elkind sacrifice bunt.

 

The Explorers' starter Dennis Burge (0-3) ran into trouble in the bottom of the fifth inning, when Dallas Baptist scored three runs, two unearned runs on a Cody Montgomery double which gave them a 4-2 lead. The Patriots ended any hope of a La Salle come-back when the scored eight runs in the bottom of the sixth.

 

Dallas Baptist (17-8) continued its scoring on-slaught when they opened up the second game with a five-run first. That was all the run support Patriot starter Jordan Craft (0-2) would need as he three-hit the Explorers.

 

La Salle will play two more with Dallas Baptist on Saturday, with a 2 PM.
