Posted by: Shawn SweeneyREHOBETH, DE - The La Salle softball team (5-7) lost its first two games at the Bash at the Beach Tournament, falling 5-3 to Providence and 13-6 to Saint Peter's.
Laura DeZolt picked up the loss from the pitcher's circle against Providence, as the Explorers fell behind 3-1 in the fifth. La Salle's attempted comeback fell short, as Providence held on to win 5-3.
Against Saint Peter's, La Salle fell behind 8-0 before scoring five runs in the fifth. Despite a pair of Michelle Sullivan home runs, a two-run dinger and a solo shot, and Lea Corcoran's first collegiate hit, a homer, the Explorers still fell 13-6. Carissa Segura was saddled with the loss.
La Salle returns to action at the Bash at the Beach Tournament with a pair of games tomorrow.
